No, I haven't seen Batman. I'm not that cool.
However, I did just put my child down for a nap only to hear a large BAM and then screaming. I went in and guess who was laying on the floor (all teeth present) crying? Yah, the CHILD WHO MAKES ME WORK TO NOT LOSE IT. I about lost it, but since he was losing it, I figured that I would hold it together.
Dear God, I hope that scared the shitake out of him enough for it to NEVER HAPPEN again. However, I'm realistic, and my child is a climber/risk taker so I immediately called about getting the toddler bed rails for our crib... which apparently take 6-8 weeks to get in. Um? poor planning on their part, obviously. when parents needs such things they need them now.
So I have nothing witty to say. That was scary.
I hear he is two...

maybe he won't attempt climbing again because he knows it hurts if he falls...maybe. glad he's okay. did you have a glass of wine to relax after this all happened?
I know this is a serious topic, so I don't mean to make light of the subject... but the line "scared the shitake" made me snort my wine :)
I wonder if there might be rails on Craigslist that you could get sooner? Longshot, but maybe worth a look...
Crib tent. Problem solved. Don't move to a bed yet-unless absolutely necessary:)
I thought crib tents had been recalled? Otherwise, coolness in sleeping in a tent, right?
I went to babies r us today (my nemesis) and purchased a new video monitor (ours died that we had gotten for a baby shower a long time ago and I refused to buy another one until we had another child) and some mesh crib raily things, and other baby proofing items. But, what I keep reinforcing to him (therapy, wha what?) is that falling hurts.
I like wine.
I think they were recalled for a user error-like the gumbo was recalled for a second because they had to print on the actual seat not to place on a counter.....I have many friends with crib tents who have kids that loooooove sleeping in a tent. Try the second had stores first, as you will need two separate ones-one for the crib and one for the pack and play:)
That would be Bumbo, not gumbo. Geesh.
Ha, I was wondering when Gumbo had been outlawed. I figured I was just that behind the times.
So far, he is staying in the cribbie. We had to buy a new video monitor (ours had broken, and I refused to get another one... but now we have one that I can talk back to him.)
Green light alarm clock. WORKING.
