beach? cottage? beverages?

January 2013.  I just signed up for the 3m half.  I have zero self motivation unless I have a race to train for.  Anyway.  Done.  Sold.  Join me.  I'll show you a good time.  And, it comes with a long sleeved tshirt.  Which, you know, is a bonus.

January 2013 I'm looking for a vacay destination for mi familia.  Me, Dr. Ben Black and G$.  I'd like it to involve a beach and an ocean because he's never seen one.  And I think the pictures would be cute.  What I'd like is for it to not cost a million dollars, have a charming town/city to visit, beverages, fun.

Where? What do you have for me?  In the US.  outside of the US.

GIVE IT TO ME STRAIGHT.  Seriously.  I need something.  I need something to plan for (and make excel files for, and purchase for, and save for.)

We are never disappointed with Maui. If you're interested, I can get you the deets on a house on the beach. Blog friend discount included as long as it's not during peak season, of course. :)

Girl, we need to research this. I love Charleston and Ben has never been. It's cold in January though, no?

So what is the weather in July? What is the weather there in January? Can I make my child dress in adorable Boden inspired clothing?

How far are you from there? Seriously, I was looking at places last night. Do you know of any? We could have a FOR REALS playdate!

We found some really great homes for fairly inexpensive in Gulf Shores, AL. I bet we could start saving and go in with you?

If you're planning for NEXT summer and G$ is going...I am wanting to go either to a) Port Aransas (I'm curious) or our usual standby...FL. However, if you want to go WO kiddos (or are up for planning a couple years down the road with me :) ) -- I say Aruba! LOVE Aruba. And it is super kid-friendly...just bigger-kid friendly....

Too cold in January for North Florida beaches or Gulf Shores. Go to Orlando--better chance at warmer weather and add Disney World to the mix! DM

Are any US beaches warm in January? San Diego and surrounding areas are great....and G$ would LOVE the zoo. We went in Feb on year and weather was great....not like bathing suit weather, but still great. And I am a big fan of Destin!

Probably not. Which leads me to think that we should just go to mexico all inclusive this summer before G turns 2 so we don't have to pay for his plane flight. Sounds cost effective to me!

Peak Season would be Spring Break (Feb/March) and Christmas (when the weather isn't all that great anyway). The house is great if you have other couples going with you, or if you're bringing grandparents along to lend a helping hand. ;)

I thought of the whole "it's not quite beachy in January" thing after I posted, but I wasn't going to say anything in case it slipped your mind. Way to pick one of the 4 months of the year when the beach isn't prime...
